Principal Architect/Architectural Technologist/Coordinator

RPS is currently seeking an experienced Principal Architect/Architectural Technologist or Coordinator dependent on experience with Microstation experience to join our progressive business in the Newark office with flexibility for agile working.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual looking to progress their career within our industry leading team where you will be responsible for day to day management of projects within a project team and lead project design delivery and day to day communication with clients, consultants and contractors.

Responsibilities:
? Support the Team Director in the technical delivery of projects.
? Challenging, guiding and supporting the project team to achieve sound technical and innovative solutions.
? Performing project reviews and co-ordination to ensure technical requirements are satisfied.
? Specification and Report writing.
? Providing day to day co-ordination of project technical team to achieve agreed project outcomes.
? Establishing and maintaining good relationships with external project team members.
? Attending and contributing to project / client meetings and undertaking site inspections.
? Demonstrating commercial awareness and knowledge of project management, including cost/time, budget implications, the recording and recovery of additional fees for design variations.
? Supporting tender / bid process and fee proposal activity when required.
? Demonstrating good project management skills, including managing multiple projects.
? Conducting activities and producing outputs in line with relevant legislation and industry standards.
? Conducting activities in line with RPS procedures.
? Managing and leading in work activities which support the Integrated Management System.
? Upholding defined RPS behaviours and appropriate personal/professional conduct.
? Taking responsibility for individual safety and the safety of others. Working in a safe manner at all time and report all health & safety incidents and concerns, including near misses, accidents, and injuries.
? Managing own continuous professional development and maintaining a good degree of discipline.
? Attend and participate in knowledge sharing forums within the business.
? Line-managing and mentoring junior staff (including annual appraisal), providing advice and guidance to share technical expertise.
? Additional duties as required.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
? Degree in relevant area/discipline of work
? 6 years post Graduate experience
? 2 years post Chartered status experience
? Line management and team working experience
? Good project management experience / capability
? Chartered or Incorporated status with relevant professional body
Skills and Experience:
? Good general skills in using Microsoft Office software
? Good understanding of technical software relevant to the design discipline
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Good organisational skills to manage deadlines and competing priorities
? Team-working and people management skills
? Licenced to drive and willingness to travel as required
? Experience in the commercial and industrial market preferred
? Strong leadership skills to establish authority and influence both internally and externally to the company.
? Previous Management experience would be advantageous
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Analytical capability with strong attention to detail
? The ability to make decisions
? Motivated with initiative
? Comfortable with autonomy with an appetite to drive innovation
? Team player
