Construction Supervisor

Job Title: Construction Supervisor
Location: Rugby
Term: 6-8 months fixed term contract

Scope of work:

This role will see you being responsible for monitoring the onsite delivery of a major civil infrastructure deployment project and associated Section 278 Highway works involving both Warwickshire County Council and Highways England.

Main responsibilities:

- Primarily site based
- Monitoring progress and compliance in accordance with the contract, design drawings and specifications;
- Approve/comment/condemn quality of permanent Installation. Assist Main Contractor in getting quality right first time
- Ability to negotiate suitable outcomes that mitigate project risk
- Demonstrable experience of method statements and risk assessments
- Ability to demonstrate experience and working knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Understanding of the New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991(NRSWA)
- Ensure that the work area is managed safely
- Be accountable for all persons under their jurisdiction
- Brief all personnel on the contents of the RAMS, associated risk assessments and site-specific conditions relevant to the work site location
- Verify the Safe System of Work Plan before implementation

Skills, experience and knowledge required for this role:

- Previous site-based supervisor experience within the major highways sector
- Demonstrable experience working with major UK Highway Contractors
- Highway design capability using DMRB standards would be preferred
- Familiarity with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract
- CSCS qualification
- SMSTS Preferred but not essential
- Effective communicator
- Used to managing own time and working independently
- Hold a valid UK driving license and have access to own vehicle
