About the Role

RPS are seeking a Land Liaison Officer (3+ years experience) who will contribute as a key member of our Transport & Environment Divisions. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who can provide a liaison role which assists with the engagement of agricultural and land management stakeholders such as farmers, landowners and the wider community. The successful candidate will be located in Dromlanagher, Co. Donegal. The role will include travel to Ballybofey/Stranorlar & Letterkenny regions of County Donegal


Responsibilities

• liaise with key agricultural stakeholders and landowners regarding gaining access to land for ecological surveys
• Frequent interaction with land/property owners to obtain the safest access routes and points of entry into habitats, while avoiding or minimising time with livestock and other agricultural hazards
• ascertain land ownership, obtain consent and discuss work objectives and activities within the landowner’s property
• explaining the aims and objectives of the project and the reasons for surveying to the landowners
• Engaging with stakeholders to seek more information on the current land use and management of habitats
• Consultation with relevant bodies such as county council departments and other regulatory bodies
• Presentation at Public Consultations and participate in public information events
• Assist in the development of public information brochures and leaflets

About You

• BEng Degree (Level 7 qualification) in Civil Engineering or similar qualification in environmental scient or agronomy
• 3 + years’ consultancy experience working as part of multi-disciplinary teams would be advantageous
• A specialism in a distinct area of terrestrial ecology is very desirable alongside a broad base of skills and understanding of the ecological field
• Consultancy experience working
• knowledge in Agronomy, Land Registry, Environmental is beneficial
• Experience in reading engineering drawings, basic AutoCAD and mapping software skills is desirable
• proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent report writing skills
• Must be a good verbal communicator
• Full clean Irish or EU driving licence essential
• Have a flexible approach to working hours (mostly within normal office hours but evening working will occasionally be required)
