Position: Town Planner
Based: Bristol
Type: Full-Time, Permanent


RPS is looking for a Planner to provide town planning consultancy services across the South of England. You will work out of our Bristol office supporting the Director in securing new business and ensuring we deliver on our current projects. This is a brand-new role within the Planning Team and due to growth in work we have won you?ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects within the RPS Planning Team. Ideally you will have some experience of working within Town Planning and be a confident communicator with great client relationship skills.


Key Responsibilities:
Working on projects with a view to meeting agreed client requirements and deadlines in accordance with the QA system.
Client management and advice to support the roles of Directors and Associates.
Attend meetings with clients/local planning authorities and other stakeholders as a representative of RPS and to liaise directly with other professionals pursuant to effective management and conduct of projects.
Professional report writing skills; the ability to develop and express an argument clearly and concisely in written form in consultation with Project Director.
Attend site visits, consultation events, conferences and other out of office events.
Contributing as instructed to the management and business development of the team.
Provision of professional advice (in writing and verbally) directly to clients.
Able to communicate effectively with client contacts and external bodies/authorities/ consultants in respect of project working as required.
Taking responsibility for the management of some projects, including invoicing and budget management.

Ideal Skills/Experience:
Chartered membership of the RTPI or close to achieving this.
Undergraduate degree in planning or similar subject
Experience of working in a similar role
Able to demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and expertise in the field of Town Planning including the application of planning policy
Excellent report writing and communication skills
