RPS currently have potential career opportunities in our Water Services Division in Dublin for a number of Clerk of Works who specialises in the delivery of major civil engineering infrastructure. The roles are a 24 to 36 month secondment opportunity for the delivery of a major wastewater services infrastructure project


Responsibilities

The duties of the roles shall include, but not be limited to:

· Monitor and report on works being carried out onsite
· Monitor the Contractor for compliance with the Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations
· Prepare excellent technical reports and presentations for internal and external use

Qualifications/Requirements


The Clerk of Works (Civil & Structural) must have:
· 5 years relevant experience in civil or structural background
· Hold an apprenticeship or other course of training leading to Junior & Senior Trades Certificate in Plumbing (Dept. of Education) or National Craft Certificate in Plumbing (FAS/City & Guilds) or hold a recognised Level 6 or higher qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications in Engineering
The Clerk of Works (Electrical) must have:
· 5 years relevant experience in an electrical works background
· Hold an apprenticeship or other course of training leading to Junior & Senior Trades Certificate in Plumbing (Dept. of Education) or National Craft Certificate in Plumbing (FAS/City & Guilds) or hold a recognised Level 6 or higher qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications in Engineering
The Clerk of Works (Mechanical / Process) must have:
· 5 years relevant experience in mechanical / Process background
· Hold an apprenticeship or other course of training leading to Junior & Senior Trades Certificate in Plumbing (Dept. of Education) or National Craft Certificate in Plumbing (FAS/City & Guilds) or hold a recognised Level 6 or higher qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications in Engineering
The Ideal Candidate will have:
· A track record in the delivery of major civil engineering infrastructure – including Waste Water Treatment projects and works on brownfield/live sites.
· Working knowledge of Public Works and FIDIC form of contract
· Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation and regulations
· Track record of leading or working in site supervision teams
· Contractor design review experience beneficial
· Team Player with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), team working skills and analytical skills
· Ability to lead and motivate themselves and others; willingly takes ownership of issues and seeks team participation to achieve best solution
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations
· Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered
· Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications (MS Word and MS Excel in particular, MS Project desirable) and simulation software.
