Position: Technical Design Manager
Location: Sheffield/Leeds/Warrington/Derby
Type: Permanent/Full Time

The Position:
RPS is looking to recruit a dynamic and proactive design manager to deliver design services to our key water industry clients in the North of England, and to contribute and take a leadership role in the development and delivery of our strategy to grow our Water Industry design services offering working with Clients and Contractors across the UK.
The ability to innovate and collaborate will be essential qualities of the post-holder, along with the ability and experience to break new ground with RPS in a highly competitive and changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The role of the Technical Design Manager will focus on:

- Contributing to growth through excellent client relationships and work winning reputation

As part of these, the Technical Manager is responsible for the quality and technical delivery of Water Technical projects primarily in the infrastructure (below ground) area. They will have strong client relationships and a reputation for providing advice and support to clients, and for ensuring that delivery exceeds client expectations wherever possible.

Experience

The knowledge, skills and experience required for this role are as follows:
- A senior-level degree-level engineer with demonstrable track record of leading design services in the utilities sector
- Proven track record in delivery and leadership of design services in an infrastructure construction environment
- An aptitude for engaging client relationship management and the ability to assist with identifying, bidding and winning new opportunities
- Knowledge and experience of the UK water sector is essential, specifically, Design knowledge and experience of infrastructure (below ground) water and or wastewater networks
- The ability to work collaboratively with clients, design engineers, contractors and other stakeholders

The education and qualifications required for this role includes:
- Degree in an engineering subject
- Chartered with a relevant institution, or demonstrate equivalent experience
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience of working with standard delivery, design and planning tools and software
