UX/UI Designer

Position: UX/UI Designer
Based: Abingdon
Type: Permanent, Full Time


We are looking for a UX/UI designer to design spatial software and platforms that meet our client?s needs. You will combine interfaces and workflows to enhance user experience. You should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems. A strong portfolio of successful UX/UI and other technical projects is essential.
The role will involve interaction with our clients both within the business and externally, a willingness to travel to RPS offices and client sites within the UK is essential.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for designing a new spatial interface for use by our internal and external customers The goal will be to make our product more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain our users.


About the role

Work with our internal and external stakeholders in the development of our latest spatially enabled product. Liaise closely with the management team on the product interface and overall client objectives. Deliver to the development team out suitable for the creation of POC products for demonstrations to clients.

Understand specifications and user psychology

Conduct user research and data analysis to gather essential feedback at all stages of the design process

Find creative ways to solve UX problems (eg usability, findability) specifically within a spatial environment

Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers


Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps

Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets


Create mockups and prototypes that clearly demonstrate how the UI functions around customer needs

Prepare and present ideas to internal teams and key stakeholders, in a clear and concise manner
Design visual mockups to demonstrate the overall look and feel while adhering to brand guidelines

About you

Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
Strong portfolio of design projects
Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Proficiency in wireframing tools (eg Axure, InVision)
Problem-solving aptitude
Team spirit; able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the business, internally and externally
Analytical mind with a business acumen
Excellent communication and time management skills
