Geo Environmental Consultant
Abingdon, London Farringdon Street


Position: Geo Environmental Consultant
Location: Based in London or Abingdon
Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Position:

RPS is looking for 2 geo environmental consultants/engineers to join our London and Abingdon based teams, to provide support and assistance on a variety of projects across a wide range of sectors including: industrial, infrastructure, residential and commercial.

You will be an integral part of the team delivering contaminated land studies, site investigations and ground engineering projects to support the growth of the business.

There may be travel required across the UK so you will need a full UK driving licence.

Key/Responsibilities:
? Preparing safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements and H&S Plans and working in line with the CDM Regulations
? Liaison with and procurement of ground investigation contractors
? Onsite management and supervision of geotechnical and geo environmental ground investigation contractors.
? Supervision of drilling, trial pitting and in situ testing
? Logging / characterisation of soils and rocks to BS5930
? Completion of daily records and measures
? Factual reporting
? General environmental consultancy support ? preparation of Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined geoenvironmental and geotechnical reports.

The skills/experience you will need are:

? Educated to degree level in BEng / BSc degree in earth science related or geo-environmental/engineering discipline.
? Full Driving Licence
? Some experience in undertaking geotechnical or geo-environmental ground investigations
? Experienced in preparing ground investigation safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements and H&S Plans and working in line with the CDM Regulations
? Liaison with and procurement of ground investigation contractors
? Onsite management and supervision of ground investigation contractors.
? Supervision of drilling, trial pitting, in situ testing geotechnical tests and infiltration testing
? Logging / characterisation of soils and rocks to BS5930 and associated standards
? Completion of daily records and measures
? Factual reporting
