Senior Engin

RPS Transport Specialists have a long-established record of successfully delivering infrastructure solutions in connection with both new and existing developments. Specialising in the delivery of high quality multidisciplinary services, including engineering design, environment and planning for projects across all sectors.

As a Senior Engineer you will be joining Transport & Engineering team, producing detailed designs and drawings to accompany planning applications, street works and public realm, SUDS, building drainage, utilities coordination / diversion. For major infrastructure, residential, retail, industrial and commercial developments.

In this role you will be responsible for the provision of day to day project management, actively involved and contributing to several work sectors, projects and client accounts at any given time. Alongside client and design team liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals, financial control of projects when acting as a project manager and undertaking business development activities.

Skills, experience and qualifications requried:
• Deep expertise within Drainage Design
• Able to provide lead technical input in the design of drainage works for development related schemes
• A desire to take responsibility for producing drainage design packages and related work activities
• Working knowledge of
o Microdrainage or similar drainage design packages
o Able to apply the principles, design codes and standards set out in the SuDS Manual, Sewers for Adoption and Building Regulations.
o Legal, planning and technical consent processes, and adoption and contract procedures for the provision of sewers and SUDS including Section 104, 106, 185 procedures
Desirable
• HNC or BEng Civil Engineering and ideally at or nearing Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional body (e.g. ICE, CIHT, CIWEM)
• A working knowledge of highway and general development principles including familiarity with Section 38 / 278 procedures, utilities coordination / diversion, Manual for Streets, DMRB, Local Authority Design Guides and other design and regulatory standards
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civils 3D
• Consultancy background with experience working on private sector development
