About the Role
RPS are looking for a Design Engineer, Building Services (BIM) who will contribute as a key member of our Mechanical & Electrical Team in Cork. You will have the ability to deliver projects in accordance with new international BIM Standards.

About You
• Minimum Level 8 Degree qualification in a Building-related Engineering or Architectural discipline.
• Higher Diploma in Engineering in BIM (Level 8) an advantage
• BRE Certified Individual (AP/PIM/TIM) an advantage
• At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in Building Services Engineering within a BIM Level 2 environment.
• Extensive knowledge of Revit MEP gained through a mixture of formal training and project-related experience.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary environment utilising a CDE for information exchange.
• Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of Level 2 BIM including PAS/BS 1192/ISO 19650 standards
• Be motivated and willing to learn with a commitment to CPD
• Have some knowledge of AutoCAD/Navisworks/Point cloud integration
• Take responsibility for delivering good quality engineering designs
• Fulfil the duties expected of a BIM Design Engineer, as listed below

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete data-rich Revit MEP models for mechanical and electrical services under the direction of the Senior Engineer
• Produce detailed P&ID and layout drawings in accordance with RPS CAD standards
• Coordinate with all other project disciplines and perform clash detection
• Comply with all requirements of the RPS BIM level 2 Technical Services Standard
• Create MEP families in compliance with Uniclass standards
• Carry out site surveys, direct and implement laser scanning services and update existing building models with point cloud information.
• Co-ordinate services with architectural and structural models.
• Assist in the production of tender documents including the compilation of detailed equipment schedules, drawing sheets, sections and model views and tender documentation
• Demonstrate self-directed learning ability
• Follow training plans for ongoing professional development

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM Level 2.
• Good computer skills in using standard office software, such as Microsoft word and excel
• Demonstrate attention to detail and practical knowledge of MEP construction methods
• Ability to perform MEP sizing calculations for pipework and ductwork would be an advantage.
