Clean Water Modeller
Edinburgh


RPS Water are looking for an experienced Clean Water Modeller to work in a team environment and support in the delivery of potable water infrastructure projects in the RPS Water Technical office at Ratho, Edinburgh.

Role and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will involve ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of projects for internal & external Clients that primarily involve UK Utilities but also private developers and local authorities. You will exercise independent engineering judgement and have the opportunity to provide innovative solutions to engineering problems. You will be a proactive and collaborative team member.

The main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Construction, calibration and maintenance of strategic and all-mains network models
• Delivery of feasibility studies / options development assessments for potable water
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor project tasks
• Collate and analyse recorded flow and pressure data
• Preparation of site survey and field-testing programmes
• Management and co-ordination of field testing for model calibration and validation
• Preparation of technical reports and deliverables
• Provide technical support to team members
• Monitor compliance to applicable standards and specifications
• Interact with clients to interpret their needs and requirements
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
• Assign responsibilities and mentor junior team members
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
• Review deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality standards
• Attend and contribute to project meetings internally and with clients
• Manage own workload and workload of other team members

Requirements
• Proven working experience as a Clean Water Network Modeller
• Knowledge of the water industry or utilities background
• Proficient in modelling software such as Infoworks, Synergi, WaterGems or EPAnet
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Basic knowledge of GIS Systems
• Skilled in the manipulation and handling of large datasets
• Ability to lead and develop others
• Decision making ability and leadership skills
• Time management and organization skills
• Degree in Engineering or relevant field
Desirable Competencies/Qualifications
• Full Clean Driving Licence
• Hold a valid EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
• Hold a valid EUSR DOMS (Distribution, Operations, Maintenance, Strategy) Card
