Project Engineer
Edinburgh


RPS Water are looking for an accountable project engineer to be responsible for engineering and technical disciplines within the Water Network Feasibility and Investigation Team in the RPS Water Technical office at Ratho, Edinburgh.

Role and Responsibilities

The role will require the Project Engineer to schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
The Project Engineer shall monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications and will also be required to interact with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements.

The main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
• Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
• Review deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality standards
• Attend and contribute to project meetings internally and with clients
• Manage own workload and workload of other team members

Requirements
• Proven working experience as a project engineer
• Knowledge of the water industry or utilities background
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Basic knowledge of GIS Systems
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
• Project management and supervision skills
• Decision making ability and leadership skills
• Time management and organization skills
• Degree in Engineering or relevant field

Desirable Competencies/Qualifications
• Full Clean Driving Licence
• Hold a valid EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
• Hold a valid EUSR DOMS (Distribution, Operations, Maintenance, Strategy) Card
