ERP Solutions Architect
Abingdon


This is an opportunity to take a key role in the establishment of the ERP competency centre that will run, manage and support the global ERP platform, driving performance improvement and commercial success in the years to come.

As the convergence programme delivers on its core objectives, it is vital that any change initiatives take place under an overarching solution architecture and that new systems and system changes are properly considered for fit before they are implemented. The role of the Solution Architect is ensuring that this ‘design thinking’ is kept in mind throughout any project work, as well as acting as an evangelist for the new Microsoft solution stack.

Key Responsibilities
• Understand the RPS business to be better able to assess and recommend change initiatives
• Keep up to date with software trends that might further the strategic aims of the business, particularly within the Microsoft stack
• Lead in maintaining the architecture of the solution, considering functionality, security, integration and performance
• Liaise with Data and Infrastructure colleagues to ensure these are appropriately considered
• Attend change boards as technical expert
• Chair technical design authority
• Ensure that the solution stays within the defined architectural principles for RPS, including any changes from 3rd party suppliers
• Work with 3rd party suppliers to schedule their work and ensure it meets our standards for entry to quality assurance
• Assist with creation of business case for future initiatives with a solution component


Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

The Solution Architect utilise their advanced stakeholder management and business analysis skills alongside a developed appreciation for the design, implementation and operation of Managed Application Services to define requirements and design the processes that support the operation of a world class ERP Competency Centre.

Key Skills / Attributes should include:

• The individual must have over 5 years solid experience working across a variety of business areas, within the Microsoft stack, in development and design roles.
• At least 2 years as Solution Architect, creating an overarching solution architecture for a business as well as project based architecture work.
• Deep appreciation for Managed Applications Services, specifically for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application environments.
• Comfortable with board level interaction
• Familiarity with major architecture frameworks (e.g. Zachmann, TOGAF) as well as ITSM frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT.

Salary range £75000 - £85000 per year
