Occupational Health Physician
Nottingham

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Occupational Health Physician (OHP) to join our Mansfield team.

This role will see you being responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical services in accordance with RPS/Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) standards/governance requirements and to a broad portfolio of clients.

You will be working as part of a highly motivated customer focused team, carrying out office and client site-based clinics/workplace visits, across a variety of different industry sectors.

As part of this role it will provide you with the exciting opportunity to train as the Clinical Lead for a newly established Tiers 5 HAVS Laboratory at Mansfield. Coupled with being the lead on the educational supervision of doctors recruited to GMC approved training posts. Whilst working alongside the Medical Director and Operational leads to help shape and secure successful and sustainable OHP succession arrangements.

Main Responsibilities
• Work in conjunction with Director and Leads across RPS OH, to enhance and develop the OH service provided
• Deliver and complete clinical sessions, to include Medical Assessments, Management referrals
• Comply with the implementation of RPS operational medical policies, procedures and systems
• Establish and maintain client relationships
• Effectively and efficiently accomplish the RPS OH delivery goals and objectives
• Participate in regular audit of clinical activity and effectiveness, that aid improvement and extension to the service
• Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to maintain appropriate accreditation and Licence to Practise
• Attend bi-annual training sessions with other RPS OHPs located throughout the UK

Skills, qualifications and experience required:
• GMC Specialist Register entry for OM and with a valid Licence to Practise
• Minimum MFOM
• Previously held a Senior OHP position
• Able to demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise, with focus in Tier 4 HAVS
• Be an established Educator Supervisor and committed to training the next generation of OPs
• Able and willing to complete travel throughout the Midlands and to other RPS offices
• Hold a full UK driving license
Advantageous
• Appointed Doctor for Lead, Asbestos, Radiation
• OG UK & RUK experience

Re-validation and Licence to Practise
Although RPS is a Designated Body we have aligned with the FOM for re-validation purposes and you will be required to undergo an annual SOM QAAS. Which provides the appraisal process for the FOM in accordance with the GMC’s Good Medical Practice and their requirements for 5 yearly re-validation and re-licensing of doctors. A positive re-validation recommendation from the FOM Responsible Officer (RO) is based on the e-portfolio (PReP) and a face-to-face professional SOM QAAS. You will be required to undertake regular CPD (personal, internal and external), multi-source feedback etc to maintain your professional competency and Licence to Practise. This also includes successful engagement in the External RPS OP Audit led by an independent OP.
