RPS Water are looking to recruit Graduates to be based from either Glasgow, Kirkintilloch or Ratho. This role will see you being office-based working alongside professionals who are the forefront of the industry and may also present opportunities to complete site work as part of this opportunity.

Our UK Water business employs around 1000 staff and has been providing services to the water industry since 1993. We work for all the UK water and sewerage companies and most of the water-only companies. Our services include Water Networks, Drainage, Software Solutions, Surveying, Design, Leakage Consultancy, Water Resources and Efficiency, Flood Risk and the Water Environment and Customer Service.

Joining RPS Water you will be provided with in-depth on-the-job training, working in small teams to allow you to rapidly gain the skills required. You will take ownership of elements of a project, manage your workload and technical quality with the appropriate supervision. We encourage graduates to rise to the challenge and push for progression through the business

Main Responsibilities:
o Assist in developing designs, drawings, hydraulic analysis and specifications for engineering and hydraulic modelling projects
o Use a range of computer packages for developing detailed designs
o Comply with the company’s HSE and Quality Policies at all times
o Attend recommended training courses to assist with personal development as required by the company
o Prepare design calculations, drawings, technical documents and reports in accordance with current standards
o Achieve agreed output targets for project whilst maintaining quality of work
o Conduct problem solving and escalate any issues
o Liaise with project team members
o Assist Senior Engineer/Design Engineer with any other needs or requirements of the business
o Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
o Perform required activities associated with projects (investigation, analysis, design and quality assurance)

Skills, Education & Qualifications required
• A degree in Civil, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Good communication skills and written English
• Ability to work in a team to solve problems that matter
• Computing skills including previous experience of Excel

Desirable Competencies /Qualifications
• Full Clean Driving Licence
• Geographical knowledge of Scotland
