CONTRACT STATUS: Specific Purpose (Likely duration 24 Months)

RPS is seeking highly motivated and experienced public relations professional to join our water services team for a secondment role as Technical Communications Lead in the Dublin region. The successful candidates will support the delivery of National Water Resource Plan for the water industry, on secondment to our client’s office in Dublin 1,

Minimum requirements for role:

The successful candidate must be able to devise communications strategies and project manage delivery of communications plans, including public consultations. He/She must demonstrate the following experience and skills

• Possess an honours degree or equivalent professional qualification, in engineering, environmental sciences, or equivalent;
• Have 7+ years’ post graduate relevant experience in Communications with the majority relating to engineering projects.
• Strong communications skills, strong report writing skills and excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to project manage tasks, work with schedules and manage resources while remaining focused on team goals.

Desirable skills for the role:

• Strong communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills
• Proven ability to develop and deliver bespoke communications strategies and plans that are fit-for-purpose and display strategic acumen, including risk and audience insights
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills - the role will require extensive engagement with clients, colleagues, service providers, and a range of stakeholders Knowledge of stakeholder engagement and management
• Experience developing project messaging and preparing communications materials to support the delivery of the project
• Knowledge of water policy in Ireland
• Strong strategic planning, optioneering, analysis and decision-making skills.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions, work within an interdisciplinary team and to manage resources to meet project goals
• Excellent IT skills to navigate internal intranet packages and software
• Keen interest in Irish current affairs and experience of managing communications for technical projects
