CONTRACT STATUS: Specific Purpose (Likely duration 24 Months)




RPS is seeking highly motivated Water Networks Design Engineer & Senior Water Networks Design Engineer to join our water services team for office OR field-based roles in the Eastern, Western and Southern regions. The successful candidates will support the delivery of National Water Resource Plan for the water industry.

Water Networks Design Engineer should have a relevant third level qualification (Degree/Masters) and at least 5 years of post-qualification experience working in the water industry with emphasis on water asset planning and design with exposure to the use of hydraulic models in the design process

Senior Water Quality Modeller should have a relevant third level qualification (Degree/Masters) and at least 10 years of post-qualification experience working in the water industry with emphasis on water asset planning and design with exposure to the use of hydraulic models in the design process

Desirable skills for the roles

• Strong technical knowledge of treated water networks including asset data, survey data, hydraulic modelling standards and technologies, both from an operations and design perspective
• High level of technical knowledge of analysis toolset excel etc., including data interrogation, manipulation skills
• Excellent communications skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent IT skills to navigate internal intranet packages and software


Ability to:
• Prioritise tasks, work with schedules and manage resources while remaining focused on team goals
• Secure and compare information from multiple sources to identify issues; committing to an action after weighing alternative solutions against decision criteria
• Set high standards, by encouraging others to assume responsibility and accountability for tasks
• Manage issues within the team and act as a point of escalation
