Survey Manager - Scotland (Central Belt)

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Survey Manager for our Geomatics department in Scotland. The Survey Manager will have full responsibility for the successful execution and delivery of a range of projects to various clients and current frameworks. The role involves interaction with clients, departmental managers and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will report directly to the Geomatics Operations Manager.


The key duties include:
• Managing all aspects of project delivery
• Developing and maintaining an efficient programme of work
• Managing surveying staff and maintain a team culture
• Liaison with clients to ensure effective client-centred communication
• Attendance at client/site meetings
• Coordination with other internal project managers, external managers and sub-contractors
• Effective communication with other RPS departments in completing projects
• Managing survey contracts and subcontracts including invoicing and cashflow
• Assisting the Geomatics Operations Manager with programming, technical support and client meetings
• Implementation of RPS company policies and procedures and ensuring surveyor compliance via the use of the RPS Insight application
• Creation and implementation of project specific RAMS
• Proven commercial awareness and support on business development actives
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Promotion of a safety culture and to ensure any learnings from near misses or accidents are implemented
• Training and development of Geomatics staff

Job Specification
• Min. 6 years’ experience working within a surveying related role
• Experience covering all aspects of surveying disciplines
• Experience in managing survey projects including staff
• Strong safety ethics
• Ability to work closely with clients and provide best practice advice
• Proficient in spoken and written English
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office, Trimble Business Centre, Trimble Realworks & SCC Atlas Survey Software
