The Vacancy:

RPS is looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join our Environmental Management Team based at our brand new office in Central London. We have a highly regarded, well established and dynamic team who provide sustainability and energy assessments on new, existing and operational buildings. We provide a range of assessments (Energy Reports, Overheating Assessments, Daylight Analysis, BREEAM Assessments, Sustainability Statements, EMS etc) to a multitude of clients. Responsibilities include the completion of energy calculations and sustainability assessments, data interpretation and analysis, site visits and surveys, regulatory consultations and report writing.

Our award winning team includes Energy and BREEAM assessors and auditors and the candidate should have a similar academic background. The individual should have an excellent technical understanding and solid experience in sustainability and energy assessments on the built environment, particularly in the context of new and existing buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery of Sustainability and Energy assessments on new, existing and operational buildings.
• Carry out site visit and surveys
• Report writing and reviewing both on a technical and commercial level

Ideal Qualifications:
• BSc / BEng in Building Services, Environmental Science/Engineering, Architecture
• MSc / MEng would be advantageous
• Accredited or working towards accreditation for BREEAM or OCDEA/NDEA

Essential Skills:
• Solid understanding of sustainability, energy technologies and building physics.
• Some experience of carrying out sustainability and energy assessments on a range of projects, preferably within a consultancy context.
• IES software
• Sustainability (BREEAM, Sustainability Statements) assessments
• Experience in carrying out Energy (SAP, SBEM) calculations and Energy Reports for planning
• Preparation of technical reports
• Passionate and informed knowledge on sustainability and energy issues
• Demonstrable solid technical knowledge of current and future legislation in relation to UK law and best practice – especially NPPF, Part L and London Plan.
