Divisional Finance Manager

Position: Divisional Finance Manager
Based: Manchester
Hours: Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm (37.5 hours)

About the role:

RPS is looking for an experienced Finance Manager with knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS to support to the Divisional MD, Divisional FD and local Operational Directors to ensure that the financial health of the division is maintained.

The role will be based in Manchester, however, there will be regular travel required to other offices to visit internal clients based in Leeds, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Newark and Milton Keynes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the monthly management accounts are accurately prepared and are reviewed in detail
• Analyse costs, fees, project margins and the division’s performance compared to business targets.
• Obtain robust explanations for any significant trends/variations to target or forecast for each business unit.
• Provide financial reports and interpreting financial information to managerial staff
• Perform monthly accrued revenue and debtor reviews with individual offices
• Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the Division should take.
• Provide support with the preparation of project budgets to assist with bids/tender prices.
• Assist FD in preparing monthly forward look/forecast
• Develop trends and projections for the Division’s finances
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
• Review Sub-contractor checklist for correct employment status
• Assist Divisional FD in ensuring that the division complies with the regulatory framework e.g. (External audit, Intermediaries reporting, PAYE/PSA compliance, VAT compliance)
• Assist with change management in lead up to new ERP system implementation in 2020.

The skills/experience you will need are:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Professional and technical skills in accounting and finance including knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
• Ability to manage a team to tight deadlines
• Able to build relationships within matrix-structured, multinational organisational environment.
• Be confident and effective interacting with executive peers, Group office, clientele, and external stakeholders.
• Experience of large-scale financial systems change
