Senior GIS Consultant
Chepstow


The RPS Energy Explosives Engineering Services (EES) have an opportunity for a Senior GIS Consultant to join their Chepstow team

This role will see you primarily supporting the RPS EES business by supplying GIS expertise to staff members or directly to clients. On an adhoc basis you will also support the wider RPS Energy this support will include:
• Spatial Data preparation & management
• Managing the production of mapping/GIS deliverables
• Obtaining pre-existing data sets through open source or paid for data arrangements

In addition to the above your main responsibilities will include:
• The production, manipulation of diagrams/images for various purposes linked with the technical EES team
• The preparation of marketing flyers, presentations for meetings, Python scripts as well as maintenance, video editing, image selection and editing for marketing purposes
• Being the first point of contact for the Chepstow office with generalist IT issues/queries

Skills, qualifications & experience required for this role
• Degree qualified in a related subject at Bsc or Msc level
• Prior deep expertise of working as a GIS Specialist including the ability to transform data sets between a variety of global coordinate systems
• Competent in producing/manipulating diagrams/images for various purposes
• Experience of working with
o ArcMap
o ArcGIS Pro
o AutoCAD
o Spatial Analyst Extension
o Geographical Information Science and Spatial Data Infrastructures
o Raster & Vector
Desirable
• Experience of utilising GIS to undertake/manage Desk Based Assessment for UXO Contamination
• Worked within the Explosives/UXO industry prior
• Undertaken site based Non-Intrusive Magnetometer surveys for UXO Contamination
