Archaeological Consultant/Senior Consultant
Newark


Previous adverts have won accolades from David for our commitment to liberate field archaeologists from the cold. Now we are seeking to recruit for a desk-based role, so we need a different tack.

RPS (CgMs) is the leading Archaeological and Heritage Consultancy in the United Kingdom. We are currently recruiting to enhance our established heritage team in Newark. As an Archaeological Consultant you will be supported and mentored, with a view to progress to manage increasingly complex fieldwork projects, predominantly in East and South Midlands but also further afield.

This role will see you preparing Archeaological desk-based assessments and setting assessments. Longer term as you progress within the team you will be involved with written scheme of invetigation for Achaeological fieldwork, tender schemes of work and appointment of subcontractors.

Skills, experience and qualifications required
• Prior archaeology experience within a commercial environment
• You need never have written a DBA or Heritage Statement previously. Have an aptitude to prepare clear, commercially focused reports to a deadline is essential
• ACIfA or above – or be eligible to apply within 6 months
• Familiarity with CAD and ArcGIS and other standard graphics packages would be beneficial
• Hold a UK driving licence
