HR Advisor
Woking


RPS Energy is a multi-disciplinary consultancy, providing Technical, Commercial and Project Management Support services in the fields of operations, geoscience, engineering and HS&E to the energy sector worldwide. Servicing the oil and gas, renewables and nuclear sectors from operating bases in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Malaysia.

The RPS Energy global HR team have a requirement for a HR Advisor to be based in Woking, supporting the UK wide personnel and offices on a full-time basis.

HR Advisor role outline
This role will see you being part of a globally dispersed HR team based from the UK, partnering closely with the business leaders and acting as a trusted advisor, to implement effective HR strategy, people plans, projects and operations consistently which supports the delivery of the business goals. The success criteria within this role is not just based around numbers; headcount, attrition, days of absence, revenue and profit; but is also measured by the depth of relationships you build with your stakeholders and employees in your functional areas.

Main Responsibilities
• Support the delivery of complex projects such as re-structuring, organisation design, talent management
• Support managers in the performance management process, up to, and including termination of employment
• Manage:
o organisational change and communications
o and resolve ad-hoc and complex ER issues
o annual processes and operations end-to-end supported by the wider (performance management, appraisals, compensation cycles, etc)
• Work with the Head of HR to drive forward the HR agenda within the Business
• Resolve employee relations issues, coaching and advising managers on handling such matters, and working diligently to prevent this issue escalating
• Partner with the functional area to launch appropriate initiatives from the people agenda from inception and development to launch and ongoing support
• Work closely with and support the managers and leaders within defined functional/Divisional areas

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required
• Degree educated
• MCIPD status (chartered member)
• Significant business partnering experience at a senior level
• Experience of working within in a fast-paced human resources function, across a variety of organisations and or sectors
• Prior deep expertise in employee relations and building relationships with senior level stakeholders
• Demonstrable experience
o in delivery of global projects and initiatives
o of handling employment law related matters of medium to high complexity, including exits of senior individuals
o success working in a fast-paced organization
• Prior experience of mentoring junior team members
• Ability to act as a critical thinker, finding solutions to complex issues
• Experience working equally well independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
• Able to influence decision making within stakeholder groups
• Demonstrate independent and critical thinking, able to quickly identify options and risks for the resolution of problems, presenting alternatives in a compelling manner
• Able to offer flexibility with working hours to work effectively with a globally dispersed team
