Occupational Health Advisor - Kent/Folkestone

RPS is a leading provider of Occupational Health services, delivering extensive services to over 600 clients throughout the UK and Ireland since 1996. We are highly experienced in providing tailored Occupational Health solutions and offer support to a wide variety of industry sector clients. Services are either delivered onsite, in our mobile screening units, or from a national network of clinics.

We are seeking to employ an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our ever-expanding team. This role will be based in Folkestone working for one client, 3 days per week is required although full time hours can be accommodated if required.

You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a first-class leading service for the supply of case management, health screening and fitness for work medicals.

Main Responsibilities for the role
• Deliver the Occupational Health Service in a cost-effective manner in line with client contracts
• Develop Occupational Health policy in conjunction with client company representatives
• Provide advice on the occupational health aspect of sickness absence and rehabilitation including facilitation of case conference and fast-track referrals
• To keep updated on new occupational health processes/activities and to maintain an ongoing Health Surveillance programme
• To represent Occupational Health at client company Health & Safety Meetings presenting statistical reports and discussing Occupational Health issues
• To maintain confidential medical information as required by legislation
• Take part in regular clinical audit processes to measure, monitor and improve clinical

Skills and Qualifications required
• Registered Nurse with suitable qualification in Occupational Health
(Consideration will be given for the right candidate with no formal qualification but with relevant experience of occupational health)
• Experience in
o health surveillance/screening procedures, to include the use of Audio and Spiro’s
o completing HAVS
o Rail industry
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Competent user of the complete Microsoft office package
• Good generalist IT skills
• Preferably drug & alcohol but training can be given
