Assistant Project Manager

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to be based in our Bristol office and work on a range of projects in the southwest of England. RPS Project Management specialise in end-to-end delivery on in both the public and private sectors and are ranked in the Top 10 in the UK by Building Magazine. We work in multiple sectors including education, residential, retail, industrial, commercial and mixed-use therefore the successful candidate will gain first hand experience in a client facing role across the full project lifecycle within projects ranging from £2m - £100m.

About the role:
• Providing project management support in all facets of the project activities to deliver the project to meet cost, time and quality requirements.
• Engaging in effective communication and liaison with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements are identified, assessed and appropriately integrated into the project.
• Supporting the lead project manager to establish the strategy and delivery for the project.
• Supporting and acting in a client facing role, in a small team, developing the clients’ strategy, through to assisting in the appointment of the extended professional team of local and international consultants and contractors.
• Assisting in delivery of the clients’ brief, delivery strategy and working with the lead project manager to assist in the design management, procurement and execution of the scheme.
• Ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are considered as a priority through all stages of the project.
• Working with the lead project manager to coordinate, plan and manage internal and external meetings in relation to the project.
• Assisting in the procurement of services and works required to deliver the project.
• Providing input into client system safety and project risk assessment and management process.

About you:
• Minimum 1 years post graduate experience of working on construction industry projects in design and project management.
• Applicants to be working towards chartership in recognised construction industry institution within next 48 months.
• Experience supporting internal and external meetings, including client and stakeholder meetings.
• Experience of successful delivery of projects to programme
• Experience of working on multiple projects in line with integrated quality, safety and environmental management systems.
• Ability to set up, monitor and control project cost budgets
• Knowledge of contract administration and using various forms of contract is essential.
• Knowledge/appreciation of H&S matters is a must.
