Commercial Manager

Reporting to the Wastewater Director, the Commercial Manager will have delegated responsibility for the financial management of projects, bids for new work and supporting contract negotiations.

This is a permanent role based in our Warrington office, operating across the UK.

The main duties and responsibilities associated with the role include:
• Delegated responsibility for the commercial performance of the Wastewater and Geomatics businesses
• Production of Payment Applications and monitoring of payments
• Credit control/cash conversion
• Management reporting and resolution of commercial issues
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Bidding, pricing and project costing
• Project correspondence and SLAs
• Assisting with the development and delivery of the project strategy, planning and implementation
• Supply chain management
• Responsibility for the effective flow of information between team members and participants in project activities
• Contract management of on-going projects from signing to closure, including: -
- Management of Contract Variations
- Participation in contract claims & dispute settlement
- Involvement in contract negotiation and contract signing with clients
- Involvement in interpreting contractual obligations & rights and evaluation of technical/financial problems for management reporting
- Applying innovative control methods that consistently delivering bottom line savings.
- Contract Administration (Main Contracts and Sub-Contracts)
- Verifying Sub-Contractors Payments/Claims

We are keen to hear from candidates who possess the qualifications & professional memberships:
• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (essential)
• Management qualification (desirable)
• Institute of Commercial Management (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (essential)

Candidates must possess the following technical competencies:
• Successful track record in commercial management of sophisticated service delivery agreements, ideally in the UK Utilities sector
• Demonstrable fiscal success
• Advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
• Excellent collaboration, negotiation and presentation skills
• Proven leadership and management success
• Successful track record in delivering compliance with externally accredited management systems.
