Palynologist
Northwich


RPS Energy is a multi-disciplinary consultancy, providing Technical, Commercial and Project Management Support services in the fields of operations, geoscience, engineering and HS&E to the energy sector worldwide.

RPS Specialist Geology team, comprises of biostratigraphers, reservoir geologists & chemical stratigraphers. Working as part of the wider RPS Energy group, the team have deep expertise in completing projects across all basins throughout the world. We are currently looking to expand the biostratigraphy team.

Job Title Palynologist
Location Cheshire, UK

Role outline
You will be a palynologist working closely within a team of biostratigraphers, involved in the analysis of ditch cuttings, core and SWC samples, be it office based or at wellsite, from wells in basins worldwide.

Main responsibilities
• Office-based palynological analysis and data review
• Working closely with other members of the biostratigraphic team; integrating palynological data with other biostratigraphic disciplines and associated sedimentological and chemical stratigraphy data
• Project co-ordination
• Willingness to travel and undertake wellsite biostratigraphic analysis essential
• Interpretation and reporting of analytical results
• To undertake technical presentations and attend client meetings
• Market biostratigraphic services to clients

Skills, Experience & Qualifications required
• Msc or PhD in a relevant subject
• Prior industry-based experience advantageous
• Working knowledge of ODM/IC, Stratabugs and GIS is advantageous
