Town Planner - Cardiff

RPS has been one of the leading Town Planning practices in the UK and Ireland for over 20 years. We have over 100 chartered Town Planners who can provide up to date advice and innovative approaches to obtaining Local Plan allocations, planning permission and other consents for all types of development.

Currently we have an opportunity for a Planner to join our Cardiff Planning team, this role will see you working alongside the Senior Planning town planning, providing planning consulting services, on a variety of projects.

RPS Planning teams in Wales are well known and respected throughout Wales and hold an unrivalled familiarity, its geography, its economy and its people; particularly those who play an active role in shaping development and infrastructure in Wales. The team, is familiar with all forms of development in the residential, retail and leisure sectors as well as energy, transport and port related infrastructure.

The main responsibilities for this role will be (but not limited to):
• Assisting on projects with a view to meeting agreed client requirements and deadlines in accordance with the QA system
• Research and analysis
• Attend site visits
• Provision of professional advice (in writing and verbally) directly to colleagues
• Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and external bodies/authorities/consultants in respect of project working as required

Skills & Qualifications required:
• Degree qualified within a relevant subject
• Hold or working towards MRTPI
• Excellent communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and able to prioritise own work load
• Previous industry experience is advantageous but not essential
