Submissions Administrator (3 month contract)

RPS Group is major global energy, planning and environmental consultancy employing over 5,000 staff. Our ISO 17025 accredited Bedford facility provides commercially accessible ultra-trace level analytical services, using state of the art analytical equipment.

Working within our Pesticide Residues team, you will assist the laboratory staff by preparing samples of fruit and vegetables for laboratory analysis.

Location: Bedford
Duration: 3 month contract (potential of becoming permanent)

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for logging in incoming work, ensuring that all work requests are accompanied by the correct paperwork and client requirements are clearly understood.
• Responsible for ensuring that sample information is accurately entered onto the RPS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and other Laboratory databases.
• Responsible for ensuring samples are stored in the correct locations.
• Responsible for adhering to company Health and Safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensuring all Quality documentation is followed, adhered to and maintained in-line with procedures developed by the Quality Manager.
• As and when required, assists in other areas and tasks as directed by the Laboratory Manager or his/her delegate.

Qualifications and Experience:
Essential
• Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to effectively communicate.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required in this role.
• A proven ability to work alone or with minimal supervision.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, and an ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
• Experience of working with a LIMS software programme.
• Experience of working in a similar role and/or within the environmental testing sector.
