RPS has a career opportunity for an Environmental Engineer who will contribute as member of our Environment team with divisions in the Dublin, Cork and Galway. The successful candidate will assist in the delivery and management of projects for key public and private sector clients in Ireland.

The Role

· Providing technical input into waste, circular economy and environmental projects;
· Interrogating and reporting on waste data and preparing waste management studies;
· Preparing applications and assisting clients in compliance reporting for EPA IED/Waste/IPC Licences and other environmental authorisations;
· Providing input into environmental risk assessments in accordance with EPA Code of Practice and guidance documents;
· Involvement in scoping, preparing and delivering contaminated land assessment projects and developing remediation proposals;
· Waste classifying and preparing of Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plans;
· Integrating with multi-disciplinary teams focused on creating solutions. This will include working with internal RPS departments, our clients and other third parties such as engineers, architects, planners, environmental consultants, hydrogeologists and hydrologists etc.

The Candidate will ideally have:

· An honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications), or equivalent professional qualification, in civil or chemical engineering, environmental engineering or science, earth science or other science discipline;
· A minimum three years’ employment experience in environmental consultancy or similar environment;
· Membership of an appropriate professional body (such as Engineers Ireland, CIWM IEMA, CIEEM, IES or CIWEM);
· Knowledge of relevant Irish and European waste and environmental legislation;
· Experience in compiling Environmental Risk Assessments including the use of conceptual site models;
· Waste classification experience including use of HazWasteOnline software;
· Experience in the assessment and redevelopment of brownfield sites and remediation of landfill and contaminated sites;
· Excellent technical report writing skills;
· Demonstrable ability to manage a varied workload;
· Full Clean Driving Licence.
