Bid Manager

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 per week
Salary: Competitive

This is a fantastic time to join RPS. We’re looking to recruit a highly organised Bid Manager to join our busy Water division based in Warrington.

Reporting to the Business Development Director / Marketing Manager you’ll work collaboratively with subject matter experts, responsible for creating high-quality prequalification questionnaires (PQQs) proposals, tender submissions and presentations as part of a successful bid process. You’ll also be responsible for facilitating bid/no bid discussions and would be expected to challenge the decision-making process.

You will have demonstrable experience in managing complex bids, ideally within the Utilities sector. You’ll need a positive, determined approach and an ability to influence others. Excellent written English skills and a keen eye for detail are a must. Finally, you will need to be a 'self-starter' who works well autonomously and as part of the broader team. Experience using Sharepoint and Microsoft 365 packages would be a distinct advantage.

The main duties and responsibilities associated with this position include:
• Reviewing tender notices and disseminating bid information and documentation to the relevant team members as appropriate
• Managing the bid/no bid process
• Liaison with our legal team and insurers to ensure agreeable contract terms
• Completing supplier registrations and PQQs
• Prepare and take ownership of the end-to-end bid process
• Appropriate liaison, support and management of bid stakeholders and contributing bid authors
• Document, content control and development of the business tender library
• Bid pipeline tracking including success/failure, client feedback to support ongoing improvement
• Contributing bid statistics to the monthly Board reports
• Management of all client procure portals as well as maintaining our Achilles UVDB registration.

Qualifications and professional memberships required:
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a related subject (Desirable)
• Suitable relevant industry experience and expertise (Desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (Essential).

Technical Competencies required:
• Demonstrate experience and knowledge of creating bids and proposals (Essential)
• Experience within the UK Water Industry (Desirable)
• Experience of using Sharepoint and Microsoft 365 packages (Essential).
