About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Transport Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team based in either our Newark or Leeds office developing technical solutions to clients’ problems through high quality project delivery. Good technical skills are needed, which should include managing and providing the technical input into transport assessments, travel plans, access strategies, etc. You will be part of an expanding team and will be supported by senior team members. The role involves traffic engineering, survey design, data analysis, problem solving, and the use of operational transport modelling packages. You will also work autonomously taking responsibility for the quality of deliverables and meeting project deadlines.

About You
Suitable candidates will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience, some or all of which will be within a consultancy environment where you will have contributed towards Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans and have gained an understanding of Manual for Streets and National Planning Policy Framework. You will be degree qualified preferably in Traffic Engineering or Transport Planning and have Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (CIHT, CILT, TPS, ICE). You should be capable of forging and nurturing long lasting client relationships and be technically proficient in the use of Junctions 9/LINSIG/TRANSYT/TRICS. Broad experience in the field of traffic engineering / transport planning is required along with project work experience with developers. Effective technical writing skills are essential in order to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis and reports. Confidence is also required to present such information to a range of audiences. Experience of Strategic Modelling and Micro-Simulation tools is advantageous.
