Our Water business employs around 1000 staff and has been providing services to the water industry since 1993. Working on all of the UK water and sewerage companies and most of the water only companies, our services include water networks management; leakage consultancy; waste water network management; software solutions; utility, land and building surveying; design; water resources and efficiency advice; and flood risk and water environment consultancy.

We are currently recruiting a Mentor whose responsibility will be to ensure our trainees/new employees are equipped with the skills, support and development to allow them to undertake their roles to the standard required.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Performance Manager and working in various areas in South East Wales, the Mentor will work closely with Team Leaders to lead the safe and efficient training and development of our trainees/new employees.

As a Mentor your main duties and responsibilities will include:
• Adherence to Company policy and practices at all times, in particular relating to Health and Safety
• Ensuring trainees and new employees are educated in and are compliant with Health & Safety requirements
• Supervision and education of trainees and new employees in order to ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures
• Ensuring trainees and new employees are provided with the technical leakage detection skills necessary in order for them to reach the standards expected.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals who have substantial and varied experience in leakage detection/water; you should also possess the following:
• NVQ Level 2 in Leakage Management
• Unit 2 and unit 10 Streetworks
• National Water Hygiene
• A strong commitment to Health and Safety
• IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with a willingness to learn and embrace new skills and technology
• The ability to communicate at various levels
• A strong desire to work with people
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Team player, flexible, co-operative attitude to working and giving and receiving help.
• Full UK driving licence.
