We have an opportunity for both a Senior Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineers to contribute on a project at the Port of Cork facility in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

The project includes the construction of a new container terminal, deep water berth and dredged basin, associated ship to shore superstructure, buildings and surface infrastructure, and public amenity area.

Role Overview

RPS is seeking to recruit Resident Engineers who will be responsible for providing technical support and site supervision for the project. The roles will be based primarily on site in Ringaskiddy.

The positions to be filled are Senior Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineers.

The Senior Resident Engineer and Assistants will have responsibility for the implementation of the Employer’s contract requirements, maintaining Health & Safety, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with planning permission, waste and foreshore licences, within budget and on programme. They will oversee the environmental monitoring, marine and civil construction, dredging / reclamation activities, services and port superstructure installation and works valuations.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• Civil Engineering Degree, or equivalent, chartered status is desirable;
• The Senior RE position requires at least 15 years post-graduate experience;
• The Assistant RE positions require a minimum of 7 years’ experience;
• Project Management experience in Port Engineering or Civil Engineering Contract or Consultancy Design;
• Experience in successfully delivering / supervising marine / coastal projects (is preferential) and demonstrate a working knowledge of:

‐ effective operational and commercial administration of contracts;
‐ statutory consent requirements and environmental compliance;
‐ project programming and the risks that may influence successful execution and completion of the works and mitigation of same;
‐ a clear and robust communication strategy;
‐ an operational port environment;
‐ working with local communities and third parties.


Remuneration package offered will be commensurate with the seniority of the roles.
