Validation/Step-Test Engineers (Croydon & Kidlington)

Job Details Validation/Step-Test Engineer
Division: Water
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Competitive

Location: Croydon - Kidlington
Qualification: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Leakage Detection
Responsible To: Operations Manager

Job Objectives

To be responsible for the delivery of Leakage Reduction in South London & Thames Valley

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is maintained
• Ensure that DMAs are discreet and proven
• Attend meetings performance meetings
• Assist colleagues when required
• Complete Risk Assessment and relevant method statements when required
• To uphold RPS Company Policy with regards to Health & Safety and working conduct
• ‘Best’ observations
• Training of Field Technicians
• General admin responsibility – Timesheets, Tesla, Job promotions ect..

Working Relationships

• Liaising with the client
• RPS staff in other areas
• Operational Managers/Supervisors

Experience/Skills Required

• At least 2 years in similar role
• Be able to interpret and understand water
network schematics and plans
• Good all round knowledge of Water Network and distribution, Hydraulics
• To understand and carryout PZT/ZPT
• Flow Testing Meters – 5,10,15 flow rates
• Boundary Valve investigations/proving
• Quantification Inc. using portable flow meters
• Utility tracing
• Correlation surveys
• Investigate and determine water loss in DMA’s and LCA’s
• Knowledge and experience of Pressure/Flow monitoring/logging
• To have the intellect and ability to quickly learn new theories, techniques and working methods associated with duties and tasks
• The ability to follow procedures and instructions
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills to enable effective communication with internal and external colleagues.
• Knowledge and experience of flow data capture techniques and methods
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Able to work well under pressure and to conflicting deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail and high levels of standards
• Team player, flexible, co-operative attitude to working and giving and receiving help

Other Information

• All necessary Health and Safety training will be provided as required be RPS
• All necessary PPE will be provided by RPS
