Business Development Specialist/Project Manager
Calgary (Canada)


Due to our expanding business needs, we are seeking a Business Development Specialist/Project Manager to work in our Land Division in our Calgary head office. The position will be responsible for the business development and project management of projects for the RPS Land Division’s business in areas such as surface land, infrastructure, municipal projects and stakeholder consultation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Initially, some of the specific duties will involve the following:
• Developing and maintaining a deep understanding and knowledge of RPS’s services, acting as a resource for internal and external inquiries
• Forming and cultivating productive and sustainable relationships with industry leaders and potential and current Clients
• Staying current in trends that may impact business interests, identifying and developing leads
• Facilitating all aspects of the business development process, including project and proposal coordination, writing and creating project plans
• Supporting the planning and implementing comprehensive internal and external marketing programs that increase revenue and profits
• Directing projects on behalf of RPS, and managing client relationships
• Preparing and delivering reports on the status of all marketing, research, and business development initiatives and programs to senior management as required.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Minimum 5 years' working experience in a progressive business development or sales role
• Minimum 5 years’ land experience in varying levels of Project Management/Coordination
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs of the industry such as stakeholder consultation, landowner relations and land acquisition for new projects
• Demonstrated aptitude for business development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; superior presentation skills
• Demonstrated skills in team leadership, project management, coordination and mentoring.
• Understanding of financial reports including budgetary guidelines and project expenditures.
• Ability to assign and delegate work, problem solve, answer questions and evaluate results of performance specific to land projects.
• Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
