Site Supervisor – Drainage Surveys - Grangemouth

Our UK Water business employs around 850 staff and has been providing services to the water industry since 1993. We work for all the UK water and sewerage companies and most of the water-only companies. Our services include Water Networks, Drainage, Software Solutions, Surveying, Design, Leakage Consultancy, Water Resources and Efficiency, Flood Risk and the Water Environment and Customer Service.
Role Summary:

Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

• Direct line management of allocated site teams (usually 3 per team)
• Achieve agreed output targets for crews whilst maintaining quality of work
• Management of on-site health and safety
• Conduct Site Quality and H&S Audits on site teams
• Conduct problem solving and escalate issues
Human Resources
• Supervise/manage all site-based staff
• Supervise and coordinate on-site training
• Involvement in recruitment process and team development
• Implement disciplinary processes/procedures
Programme Management
• Liaise with the Delivery Manager to plan and agree programme of work
• Monitor weekly programme and report any issues affecting progress
• Compile daily updates and reports to Project Manager
• Liaise with client network operatives
• Attend office and site-based meetings as required
Health & Safety
• Manage QUENSH compliance on all aspects of site work
• Manage the calibration and inspection of safety critical equipment
• Monitor working hours to ensure compliance with legislation
• Deliver Team Briefs and promote good working practices
• Undertake incident and accident investigation in accordance with RPS processes
• Manage survey equipment and stores
• Manage fleet vehicle requirements and usage
• Manage allocation and use of equipment (phones, tools etc.)
• Assist in development of smart working technology

Essential Knowledge/Qualifications:

Full Clean Driving Licence
Previous involvement in running operational teams remotely and direct on site
Knowledge and understanding of drainage systems and associated assets.
Demonstrable knowledge of either Manhole/Asset Surveys, CCTV Surveying or Flow Monitoring
Must have the ability to coach teams and individuals effectively
Previous involvement in the supervision of Confined Space Entry
Hold a valid NRSWA Supervisor’s Card, including Unit 2 signing, lighting and guarding
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
Be IT literate, including use of PDA/mobile devices
Ability to implement performance management
Flexible and willing to work days/nights as required

Desirable Knowledge/Qualifications:

Geographical knowledge of Scotland
Level 4 Diploma in Water Industry Operations (equivalent to Higher National Certificate (HNC) /Higher National Diploma (HND))
Health & Safety Supervisory qualification such as SHEA or IOSH Managing Safely or SSMTS.
