Senior Bridge Engineer

Job Summary

We are currently recruiting a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Bridges Team in Dublin.
The position will be based in our Dun Laoghaire Office. The successful candidate will be joining a recognised leader in the delivery of consultancy services in Ireland and the UK.

The Candidate’s Requirements

• Min. 7 years of proven experience in design and assessment of bridges to current design standards and regulations
• Track record of working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Level 8 or higher)
• Chartered Engineer or shortly approaching Chartership
• Knowledge and experience in using Eurocodes
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong interpersonal, social skills with the ability to manage other design personnel
• Clear, concise and user friendly writing skills
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and structural design and analysis software packages e.g. Lusas, Robot Structural Analysis, Masterseries
• A proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios

Key Responsibilities

• Structural design of bridges on BIM projects
• Engagement with Clients and Design Teams for project delivery
• Provide leadership to the assigned civil/structural Design Teams
• Manage design output to meet specified quality and agreed timelines and costs
• Assist in procurement of new bridge projects
• Construction monitoring and reporting
• Structural inspections

Knowledge/Skills

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with excellent people management skills
• Have a passion for the development of high quality bridge projects within programme and financial constraints
• Good knowledge of project management methodologies
• Good business acumen with financial perspective in the forefront
• Strong technical experience in delivery of infrastructure projects
• Good knowledge of industry best practice
• Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion and ability to achieve results within the set timeframe
• Demonstrated leadership ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of the team
• Capacity to self-motivate
