Leakage DMA Analyst (Croydon & Thames Valley Area)

Job Title: Leakage DMA Analyst

Location: South London - Croydon & Thames Valley - Kidlington

Salary: £26k-£28k depending on experience

Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday with occasional night work

Contract Type: Permanent

Here at RPS, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Clean Water Integrity Technician to work as a key member of our DMA Enhancement team on our Thames Water contract.

Job Purpose

It is believed that a significant proportion of ‘Leakage’ is actually water being used legally or illegally, but not being accounted for in the Company’s Water Balance. This may include unrecorded usage due to broken meters, illegal use, unmetered commercial use, new developments etc.

The purpose of the Leakage DMA Enhancement Project is to identify and/or investigate specific areas/customers where there is a suspicion of UFW (Unaccounted For Water) Where UFW is confirmed, to prepare a plan for resolution of the issue, brief the resolution activity owners, and follow through to completion.

The DMA Analyst is a critical member of the DMA Enhancement Team

Responsibilities and Activities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

High Level Responsibilities

• Analysis of DMAs to identify actual or potential sources of Unaccounted-for Water (UFW).
• Analysis of potential sources of UFW identified by others
• Planning for and deployment of resources to undertake field investigations
• Collation of data to determine process to resolve UFW issue
• Resolution plan and monitor through to completion

Principal Activities

• Scrutiny of Thames Water System Data compared to the DMA makeup/property data which will include comparisons against Netbase, GIS and CIS/Temetra to identify possible UFW, whether it be leakage, wastage or consumption.
• Deploy Investigation Technicians in the field to obtain further information
• Design DMA validation investigations, raise PTW’s and discuss with key account customers to notify them of possible water disruptions in particular liaising with Hospital and Dialysis patients.
• Deploy Integrity Engineers into the field to undertake validation investigations
• Responsible for collating data from investigations and preparing reports to the SPA team to identify action required to resolve the UFW issue.
• Monitor progress through to completion.
• Preparation of both Client & Internal weekly reports.
• To update Z-One with required reports and information obtained through Enhancement Projects work.
• Carry out all quantifications with in a given DMA to ascertain any leakage outstanding
• Data capture, accurate timekeeping and correct completion of timesheets and other records including night by night activities

Critical Factors

We are looking for a person with the following attributes:

Health and Safety awareness
Water network knowledge, or similar
Computer literate and report writing skills
Understanding of Netbase system including Aorta, GIS and Meterman, or similar
Proven track record in data analysis and manipulation
Client management and customer satisfaction
Excellent communication skills
Strong leadership and motivation.
